At GPORTAL, our vision is to provide individual and easy-to-use online gaming experiences to the world. We believe in offering more than just servers like any other hosting company. For over 20 years, we have been bringing virtual worlds into everyone’s home with just a few clicks. Our mission is to enable experts and beginners alike to play their favourite games together with their friends. From Minecraft, Valheim, and Enshrouded, we provide a wide variety of around 100 different multiplayer games from all genres.
We are looking for a part-time (556 EUR/month), permanent Game Scout (all genders) to start as soon as possible. We live remote-first, but you have the freedom to choose whether you want to work hybrid or completely on-site due to your proximity to one of our locations.
Your creative field:
The Game Scout at GPORTAL plays a crucial role in driving innovation and market leadership by identifying emerging gaming trends and technologies. This position not only sparks creative ideas within the organization but also strengthens our competitive edge by sourcing unique, relevant projects that position us as a leader in the gaming industry. Through strategic insights and partnerships, you will align with our long-term goals of expanding our portfolio and entering new markets.
Key responsibilities include:
- Continuously analyzing the gaming landscape, from genres to platforms and technologies, to stay ahead of player trends and share them with the internal team.
- Conducting competitive analysis to identify growth potential for the company and leveraging data, market research, and industry reports to pinpoint future opportunities.
- Actively scouting for innovative indie developers, projects, and cutting-edge technologies.
- Screening new game projects and developers based on factors like market potential, innovation, and technical maturity.
- Keeping the CRM system updated with key contacts, project information, and market trends.
Ideally, you would have:
- A deep understanding of game development, genres, platforms, and market dynamics.
- Familiarity with game engines, tools, and emerging technologies like VR, AR, AI, and blockchain.
- Expertise in conducting thorough market research to identify trends and opportunities within the gaming industry.
- Strong proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) for data management, reporting, and presentations.
- Written and verbal communication skills in both English and German.
Nice to have (but not required):
- Proven experience in building and maintaining professional networks within the gaming sector.
