Fjordur - a Nordic inspired adventure
For many years the map was in development, but now finally the final release has come and Fjordur will be included in ARK: Survival Evolved as a free expansion map. We can expect a great adventure inspired by Norse mythology.
A fascinating world
Fjordur really has a lot to offer. Our employee and creator of Fjordur Nekatus has done a great job and created an incredibly detailed and extensive world. First of all, the world consists of 4 different islands called Vardiland, Vannaland, Bolbjord and Balheimr, as well as the mystical realms of Jotunheim, Vanaheim and Asgard.
Even though the main theme of the map is Norse mythology and everything else seems rather frosty, the eye gets a lot more. Dense green forests, vast valleys, huge and snowy mountains, almost magical lakes, huge cave systems, ruins and so much more.

Unique monsters
As in other maps before, Fjordur will also have unique creatures that you can only find here. In total, you will encounter four new monsters in the vastness of the map. Among them are the Fjordhawk, Desmodus, Andrewsarchus and Fenrir. In addition to the unique monsters, you will of course also meet other monsters and dinosaurs in all corners.
Fjordhawk
Let’s start right away with an extremely useful companion, the Fjordhawk. This little rascal can bring distant objects and loot to its owner, thus saving walking distances or even getting over obstacles to reach loot that would otherwise be difficult to access.
Desmodus
In a dark cave you are hardly ever alone. On the ceiling already lurk several Desmodus, their sign giant bats. Once tamed, they can be used as flying mounts. This way you can attack enemy fortresses from the air and there is even a stealth mode.
Andrewsarchus
The Andrewsarchus brings out the big guns. A mix of wild boar and bear with a very impressive machine gun on the back. With this you are well prepared for any battle.
Fenrir
Finally, there’s the rather mysterious Fenrir, where you’ll have to find out for yourself what he’s all about.
