    Island Types<\/h2>\n

    Windrose features a procedurally generated world with several distinct island biomes, each offering unique resources and challenges.<\/p>\n

    Coastal Islands<\/h3>\n

    Small to medium islands with sandy beaches, shallow coves, and Pinewood forests. These are the safest islands for new crews \u2014 low-tier enemies, basic resources, and good fishing spots. Ideal as a starting base.<\/p>\n

    Jungle Islands<\/h3>\n

    Dense, layered islands with Ironwood trees, exotic fruits, and dangerous predatory wildlife. Jungle islands contain the best wood resources in the game and often hide ruins<\/strong> with map fragments and crafting schematics.<\/p>\n

    Volcanic Islands<\/h3>\n

    Hostile environments with rivers of lava, high-tier mineral deposits, and aggressive volcanic creatures. The risk is high, but volcanic islands contain Iron Ore veins<\/strong>, Sulfur<\/strong>, and occasionally Lava Crystals<\/strong> used in endgame recipes.<\/p>\n

    Abandoned Settlement Islands<\/h3>\n

    Rare islands with the ruins of old civilizations. These islands contain Artifact Chests<\/strong> with unique blueprints, Ancient Coins<\/strong> (the premium currency for trader NPCs), and lore items that explain the world’s backstory.<\/p>\n

    Exploration Tips<\/h2>\n
      \n
    • Map the Coastline First<\/strong> \u2013 Sail around the island before landing to spot beaches, coves, and potential danger zones<\/li>\n
    • Send a Scout<\/strong> \u2013 One crew member goes ashore first while others stay on the ship for quick extraction<\/li>\n
    • Mark Resource Nodes<\/strong> \u2013 Use the in-game map marker system to mark Ironwood trees, ore veins, and special locations for return trips<\/li>\n
    • Check the Tide<\/strong> \u2013 Some coves and caves are only accessible at low tide. Windrose has a dynamic day\/night and tide cycle<\/li>\n
    • Bring Food<\/strong> \u2013 Island exploration can be time-consuming. Crew members with low food will suffer stamina penalties<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Dungeons & Hidden Areas<\/h2>\n

      Many islands in Windrose contain hidden underground areas and dungeons:<\/p>\n

      Cave Systems<\/h3>\n

      Found on most medium-to-large islands, caves contain valuable ore deposits, rare mushrooms, and occasionally NPC enemies. Bring torches or a lantern \u2014 caves are completely dark without a light source.<\/p>\n

      Ancient Ruins<\/h3>\n

      Found on Jungle and Abandoned Settlement islands. Ruins contain multiple rooms with puzzle locks and enemy guardians. Successfully clearing a ruins complex rewards the crew with an Artifact Chest<\/strong> containing a unique blueprint, map fragment, or rare material cache.<\/p>\n

      Underwater Wrecks<\/h3>\n

      Accessible via diving near marked locations (treasure map fragments show underwater wreck sites). Wrecks contain Sea Brass, rare cannon components, and naval charts. Time-limited \u2014 divers must surface to breathe.<\/p>\n

      Claiming Islands<\/h2>\n

      On a GPORTAL Windrose server, your crew can claim<\/strong> an island to prevent other players from building there (in PvP mode) and to enable persistent resource extraction.<\/p>\n

      To claim an island: place a Claim Stone<\/strong> at the highest point of the island and interact with it to register your crew’s ownership. The island will appear on the world map as owned by your crew.<\/p>\n

      Claimed island benefits include: protected building zones, persistent storage, and claim-only resource regeneration bonuses.<\/p>\n

      The number of claimable islands per crew is set by the server admin. On default GPORTAL Windrose servers, crews can claim up to 3 islands. Admins can change this in the ServerDescription.json settings.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

      Do islands reset between server restarts?<\/h3>\n
      \n

      No. Island claims, buildings, and resource states are saved automatically. As long as your GPORTAL server has auto-save enabled, your island base will persist across restarts.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
