Creating a backup protects you from losing your game progress. There are many possible causes and not all of them are influenced by your actions. This is why we recommend regularly creating backups. The creation of a backup is quite simple. You can find a corresponding menu item "Backup" in the game server menu. In addition, there are also mods or plugins that can create backups automatically, which are then available via FTP on the server.
You can simply adjust your desired server settings in our web interface (e.g. whether you want villages, NPCs, animals etc. on your seed or not; changing the max build height). After you’ve logged into our website, you can find all needed menu items on the left side and the options below.

In a strange world
Mankind had to flee from Earth and was stranded on a moon of Jupiter. Welcome to Europa, on the surface of which survival is impossible, so people decided to live underwater in a submarine. Barotrauma offers a cool mix of survival, exploration and team coordination, with interesting ragdoll physics for game characters. Explore this alien world alone, or together with up to 15 other players and ensure the survival of mankind.
Your submarine, your home
The central starting point in the game is your submarine, which you'll have to operate, upgrade and maintain to travel through this alien world. With the help of your crew, you'll operate the different equipment on board: the sonar, the nuclear reactor, pumps, engines, weapons and more. This means that communication on board is immensely important so that you can act effectively. Your crew can choose from 6 different classes, such as a captain, mechanic, doctor and more. If you don't have enough friends at hand, you can also fill up missing places with NPCs (bots).
Go hunting for prey in the dark
In the depths of the ocean you are not alone, but no one knows what lurks in the darkness. Dive into a procedurally created, unexplored world. Complete different missions, meet the inhabitants of the ocean and decide whether you want to fight or flee. Find alien ruins and search them while hunting for materials and resources. The replay value is almost endless thanks to the randomly generated game world.
