After Minecraft switched from one major update per year to several smaller updates, “The Copper Age” is now the next content drop, featuring lots of cool new content and an old familiar face.
ALL ABOUT THE COPPER AGE
The Copper Golem is back
As the name of the content drop suggests, (almost) everything revolves around copper and, in this context, the “Copper Golem,” which unfortunately did not win the Minecraft Mob Voting in 2021, but is now finally finding its way into the game.
But what exactly does the Copper Golem do? First, place a Jack'o Lantern on a copper block and the Copper Golem will spawn along with a copper chest. Now, if you place any items in the copper chest, the Golem will automatically start sorting them into your existing chests. Super handy. You can spend more time adventuring while your little friend takes care of sorting your treasures.
But the update brings many more really cool features:
- New copper armor (lower quality than iron armor)
- New copper tools
- New blocks that can be crafted with copper, such as copper bars, copper chains, copper chests, copper lanterns, copper torches, and more
- The new Shelf block, which can be crafted from various types of wood (great for creating shelves in your house or a “supermarket,” for example)
- Dyes have new item graphics
- The debug menu can now be personalized (press and hold F3 and then press F5)
- A cute interaction between iron and copper golems (try it out)
- And more…
