How Valheim 1.0 + Deep North are bringing back the hype

You really just wanted to pop into Valheim for a quick look and explore the world, but then, hours later, you were still sitting by the campfire while the next enemy waited somewhere in the dark.

Version 1.0 and the Deep North content update

Now, finally, a new chapter begins—the final chapter, “Deep North.” And it feels just like that first evening in Valheim—only a few years later and with even more content than Valheim has ever offered.

After the evergreen forests and the scorched earth of the Ashlands, the journey now takes you and your friends to the freezing north: “Deep North.” As you’d expect from a content update, it includes everything you’d hope for: new enemies, new loot and weapons, new bosses, gloomy caves, new building materials and decorative items, story snippets, and so much more that you’ll have to discover for yourselves.

Why GPORTAL is the best place to host your Valheim server

Back in 2021 when Valheim released into Early Access GPORTAL quickly became the biggest Valheim hoster worldwide. Over the years we improved our servers even further and now offer some exclusive features you don't get anywhere else and on top deliver the easiest mod installation possible for your server.

Installing mods is super easy. In your server’s GPORTAL web interface, you’ll find the “Mods” tab on the left-hand side. There, you can easily search for BepInEx and Thunderstore mods and install them with just a click. No external downloads or tools are required. In addition, dependencies on other mods are displayed (which you can then install as well), along with important notes—such as whether your fellow players need to install the mod too or not. It really doesn’t get any easier than this.

We also offer ValheimPlus included into our web interface so you can activate it with a click and then browse through more than 400 mod settings, sorted into categories to easily adjust your gameplay experience to your liking.

Last but not least we have an easy to use savegame import and backup system for Valheim, so you can easily import savegames and have access to backups of those savegames.

And of course we offer crossplay across all plattforms you can play Valheim on: PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch.
