Revamping of the game world

As was already known, with the update, which by the way is officially scheduled to be released on May 17, 2023, there will be a vast and completely new area (Gloomrot) that we can explore. In addition to the new area, the developers also want to revisit old areas, such as the Cursed Forest, Silverlight Hills and more, and add new details, points of interest (POI) and more, so that new and old players alike can make new discoveries in these areas as well.

More lively game world

But a large game world is nothing if it isn't also alive, and that's exactly where the developers intend to make an impact. Besides trading posts, which will be spread all over Voradoran and where you will be able to buy different items, the developers also introduce new weather effects, ranging from fierce winds to fog and even lightning strikes, which you should avoid.

New enemies

However, the weather isn't the only problem you'll have to take care of, because there are quite a few new enemies you'll encounter in Vardoran. A total of 13 new bosses and no less than 30 new enemy types roam around in the different areas and have to be fought. From animals to monsters and humans, everything is there. So you better equip yourself well …

Legen…dary!

... And that brings us directly to the next topic. Two new weapon types find their way into the game and give you more possibilities to develop your very own play style. First of all, there's the greatsword and the dual pistols, which you'll be able to find and craft.

Additionally, you'll have the possibility to find legendary weapon relics in the game world, which you'll be able to restore and use, of course. Among other things, these offer unique hit effects that should be exceedingly useful in combat.

Improved building system and new building options

Not only does the game world expand, but you can also expand your castle. As we already know, it will be possible to expand the castle to several floors. Until now, you could only create the impression that your own castle had several floors by using optical tricks and, of course, elevations in the game world.

There will also be many new ways to decorate the castle's surroundings with an inviting garden, for example. And of course, there will also be new crafting stations.

New School of Magic

In the last dev blog for the upcoming "Secrets of Gloomrot" update, the developers have already announced that all magic schools will be reworked to make them more immersive in their respective fantasies. So from blood magic, to illusions and more, the magic types will become much more distinct.

Now, however, the developers have announced that a brand new magic school will also be coming to the game: Storm Magic. From now on, you'll be able to destroy your opponents with powerful lightning strikes.

Many other smaller changes

All these new features are of course only the biggest and most important changes. The list is much longer. For example, the developers talk about new teleport options, bags for more space when traveling, new customization options for your vampire (e.g. hairstyles), adjustments in the UI, optimizations for hunting V-Blood, improved sound and more music in the game, and even more.
