Enshrouded 1.0: Embervale grows beyond its limits - Here's what we know so far!
October 15 is a big day for survival RPG fans: Enshrouded is getting its massive 1.0 update, finally bringing the sandbox game, which features arguably the best building system, to PlayStation.
New adventures, new challenges
October 15 is finally upon us: Enshrouded is leaving Early Access and officially launching in version 1.0. After countless hours of building, exploring, and probably just as many instances of “I’m just going to take a quick peek back there”, it’s time to rediscover Embervale all over again. And Keen Games has a whole lot in store for that.
First, a few key facts: With Version 1.0, Enshrouded is getting, among other things, a new biome packed with new enemies, dangers, and, of course, loot. This also raises the maximum player level to 50, while your gear can now be upgraded up to level 55.
Magic users are also in for a treat. A total of nine new spells have been added, including “Blizzard”, “Ball Lightning”, and “Mana Drain”. What’s especially exciting is that the various summons now form a completely new spell category. Among other things, you can summon fire, ice, and shock totems, as well as a “Hollow Skeleton” (which you’re surely familiar with from the Hollow Halls).
But what I’m most excited about (warm regards from the blog writer) is that, of course, all the archers among us haven’t been forgotten: New abilities like “Puncture”, “Barrag”, and “Survival Instinct” expand the skill tree and offer new ways to take out enemies from a safe distance. Plus, there are three new “Eternal Arrows”: Fire, Shock, and Bone.
Speaking of combat and new skills: The skill trees have been adjusted again (YAY!) and will be reset once more for the 1.0 release. So you’ll get your skill points back… Be sure to re-spec your character before marching out of your base ready for action. Otherwise, the very first standard enemy might already feel like the final boss.
Enshrouded - 1.0 Release Date Reveal

More comfort and performance for Embervale
Keen Games is also using the 1.0 release to tidy up numerous existing systems and make them more enjoyable. Good examples include fishing (finally, less of a “fish lottery”), the behavior of your glider’s “updraft”, and even the battle against that one final boss that melee fighters don’t particularly like (you know who I’m talking about). So you can look forward to quite a few quality-of-life features that’ll make your day-to-day gameplay more comfortable.
We also expect noticeable performance improvements for all players, but especially for those with slightly less powerful hardware. The in-house graphics engine has been further refined as well, so that, for example, lighting and shadow effects are rendered even better, the view distance has been significantly improved, and pop-ins have been reduced.
A warm “Welcome!” to PlayStation
The 1.0 release is exciting not only for PC players who have been enjoying Enshrouded for a long time, but now, for the first time, PlayStation players can also travel to Embervale. And of course, here at GPORTAL, we’re launching PlayStation servers to go along with it, so you can team up with your friends on consoles as well.
The landing page for the PlayStation servers will be available at launch.
Experience the vast world of Enshrouded on GPORTAL servers
All this info here on the blog is, of course, just the beginning, and the few concrete details that have been 100% confirmed so far. The actual 1.0 update will without a doubt include plenty more new features, story content, balance adjustments, and MUCH more. That should keep you busy for the next few weeks (and weekends).
Now is the best time to grab your Enshrouded server at GPORTAL and dive right into the world of Embervale when it launches. As an official host for Enshrouded, we’ve been supporting the developers and Enshrouded with our server hardware since Day 1. With us, you get servers you can rely on at any time, all at a fair price and with top-notch support, so you can focus on the adventure with your friends. We’ll take care of the rest.
See you in Embervale!
