Off into the wilderness in the new Minecraft update

Mangroves and dark depths

Two new biomes await us with this update. First, you will now find mangrove swamps with large (you guessed it) mangrove trees. These new swamps look really swampy and stand out visually.

And then there’s the new Deep Dark Biom, which brings a very dark and eerie area to the game by Minecraft standards. Down there in the depths, a nerve-wracking silence awaits you… and something unspeakable.

Of frogs, tadpoles and monsters

As you move through swamps, you’ll quickly notice the new frogs and tadpoles jumping around. These are not only cute to look at, but also have practical uses. For example, frogs eat slime and then leave the slime behind to collect. So you could use this to make an interesting slime-producing trap … or something.

Should you dare to venture into the Deep Dark Biom, keep your eyes open, because something is lurking in the dark: The Warden. This creepy looking monster is blind, but extremely sensitive to sounds. Therefore, you should be careful not to make too much noise. It’s best to sneak past the Warden slowly to avoid trouble.

Allay is finally here!

Also in the Minecraft Live Event, there was a vote on which helpful mob should find its way into the game next. The choice was between Allay, Copper Golem and Glare. The winner in the end was Allay and now it’s finally here and not only looks super cute, but can also be very helpful for the player.
