How do I set up my server for ETS2 or ATS?

Enable console

First, you need to activate the in-game console. To do this, proceed as follows:

  1. Search the file config.cfg of the client
    -> You can find it under the following path:
    C:\User\UserName\Documents\Euro Truck Simulator 2
    C:\User\UserName\Documents\American Truck Simulator
  2. In this file you have to change 2 values
    g_developer “0” –> g_developer “1
    g_console “0” –> g_console “1”
  3. Below two screenshots for visualization

Create the configuration files

After you activate the console, start the game and log in.

  1. Now set up your convoy (including the mods you want to use)
  2. You can ignore name, password and description at this point, because the generated server_config.sii doesn’t care about these settings
  3. After your convoy is set up, press the key ~
    -> This should open the console at the bottom of the screen
  4. Type the following command in the console and press ENTER:
    export_server_packages
    -> you should get a confirmation for success
  5. Now go again to the folder of the client with the config.cfg file
  6. Search here for the following files:
    server_packages.sii
    server_packages.dat

Copy to the server

The next step is to copy the files via FTP into the following directory: :
-> .local/share/Euro Truck Simulator 2/
-> .local/share/American Truck Simulator/

Steam Server Token

Have you registered your server here?
-> https://steamcommunity.com/dev/managegameservers
If so, you should make sure you are using the correct App ID, otherwise you won’t see your server in the list.

The ID for Euro Truck Simulator 2 is:
-> 227300

The ID for American Truck Simulator is:
-> 270880

Copy the generated ID and add them into the Server Token-field. After this please save the settings and you can start playing!

How do I find my server ingame?

There are two possibilities:

  1. The server can be found by scrolling the list or
  2. The server can be found via the “Session Search ID”. For this, open the Logs of your server and look for “Search ID”. Here you will find a longer number with a “/” in between. Copy this ID and enter it into the search field in the convoy browser.
