What this role is about:
We’re looking for a gaming-savvy freelancer who dives deep into the games we support and helps us continuously improve our product. You’ll become our internal “voice of the player community” and work closely with our product and engineering teams.
Your work will be heavily powered by modern AI tools – so you should enjoy using LLMs, research agents, and other AI workflows as leverage to work efficiently at scale.
What you’ll do:
- Audit game settings & configurations: Are our startup parameters, config files, and default settings dialed in for each game? Are there community best practices we should adopt?
- Feature research: Which features are currently missing in our panel for specific games? What is the community asking for on Reddit, Discord, and Steam forums?
- Competitor intelligence: What are competitors (e.g. Nitrado, PingPerfect, Host Havoc, Shockbyte) doing differently or better? What features do they offer that we’re missing?
- Mod & plugin landscape: Which mods, plugins, or launchers are becoming relevant in which games? Do we need to support them?
- Trends & upcoming releases: Which early-access titles or upcoming games should we have on our radar?
- Build AI-powered workflows: You’ll develop your own AI processes (e.g. automated community monitoring, LLM-based settings reviews) to scale your output.
- Reporting: Regular, structured findings and prioritized recommendations to our product team.
What you bring:
- Gaming is your passion – you play regularly, know the scene, and move naturally across Reddit, Discord, Steam, and gaming communities
- Hands-on experience with game servers – you’ve hosted or configured servers yourself (ARK, Minecraft, Rust, Palworld, etc.)
- Solid experience with AI tools – Claude, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Deep Research, custom agents; you know how to write good prompts and critically evaluate AI output
- Analytical, structured working style – you don’t just deliver info, you deliver concrete, prioritized recommendations
- Self-directed – you don’t need heavy management; you set your own goals
- Fluent English (German is a plus, but not required)
- Bonus: Experience with Linux servers, game modding, or technical writing
