The perk system is being shaken up with the 7 Days to Die 2.0 Storms Brewing update, and some changes have been made. But which perks – regardless of your playstyle – are actually the best in 7 Days to Die?

What's new in the perk system from the 2.0 update?

The new general perks tab

The 7 Days to Die update brings a new tab to the game, from which you can select some already known perks without them being tied to an attribute that you may not have invested in yet. You can skill the following perks without using the previous attributes:

**- Lucky Looter

  • Master Chef
  • Living off the Land
  • Lock Picking
  • Light, Medium and Heavy Armor**

Don't worry, The Fun Pimps have of course thought of something for these “gaps” and filled them with new exciting perks.

From attribute level 6: New mastery perks

It's not just the perks that have been updated, the attributes themselves have also been given a new mastery perk series from level 6. These Mastery Perks make a lot of sense, especially if you are deliberately concentrating on one attribute. The five attributes represent the following specializations for your character:

  • Intellect
  • Strength
  • Fortitude
  • Agility
  • Perception

In addition, the attributes have either been given completely new perks or some of them have been reworked and have surprises in store for you.

The best 7 Days to Die Perks

Lucky Looter

With the Lucky Looter perk, your chances increase in line with your ascending skill level. You become a real lucky looter and find rarer items more often on your exploration tours and can open containers faster. With the 2.0 update, you can benefit from the Lucky Looter perk with every build, as it is no longer tied to a specific attribute.

Miner 69er

Especially if you are at the beginning of 7 Days to Die and need a lot of resources to build your first base, Miner 69er is the perfect perk for you. It ensures that you deal 10% more damage with a mining tool in battle with the first skill level alone and blocks receive 30% more damage - so they break faster and mining no longer takes forever. Another advantage of the Miner 69 perk is that you consume less and less stamina and can therefore mine ores for longer. And over time, you'll even find more items that you need to modify or upgrade your equipment.

Motherload

You could say that Motherload should be seen as complementary to Miner 69er and similarities are definitely visible. With Motherload, the eternal cycle of gathering resources, upgrading defenses and crafting is made easier. The first skill level of Motherload alone gives you 20% more of the materials you collect while using tools - so you can build up your defense in no time at all and constantly improve it.

Rule 1: Cardio

Striking, aiming and, above all, running - all of these will drain your stamina in 7 Days to Die. In addition to good defense against greedy hordes of zombies, one thing is particularly important: speed! When the zombies sniff you out and want your flesh, there's only one thing you can do, especially at the beginning: run! And to ensure that this lasts for a long time and that you can really run away from zombies without getting your foot chewed on, you can invest in the Rule 1: Cardio perk. This reduces the time it takes to regenerate your stamina while sprinting, which can be the difference between life and death in certain situations.

Physician

A real all-rounder that should be part of every madman's arsenal who wants to face this horrific and brutal world. It allows you to be your own doctor, which could be quite important given the circumstances. With each additional skill level of the Physician Perk, you receive great advantages that ensure that treated wounds heal quickly, you can produce healing items faster, and these items also heal more than your actual health over time (so you get more health points) and you receive more experience points per use of healing items as your skill level increases. This perk really gives you a lot of advantages and turns you into an indispensable player in a fighting force against the wild zombies.

Pain Tolerance

After moving more in the direction of healers with the Physician perk, here's a perk that's helpful for any player who likes to act as a tank and take a lot of punishment - ideal for frontline players. The further you increase your skill level, the less damage you take and the stronger you become against stun damage, which is particularly troublesome at the beginning.

Parkour

No matter who or what you are or want to be in 7 Days to Die, we can only recommend that you take a closer look at the parkour perk and at least level it up with a few points. Whether jumping higher, increasing the safe fall distance, little to no injuries from falling damage or less stamina consumption when jumping - parkour is THE perk in 7 Days to Die. It doesn't matter whether you're a bit clumsy when building or constantly have to free yourself from dicey situations.

Better Barter

Admittedly, Better Barter is not an extremely life-changing perk, but it helps you enormously to get a wide variety of items from the merchants more quickly, even at the beginning. You start with 5% better selling and purchase prices and end up with 25% in the best case, which means you will notice a significant difference.

Grease Monkey

If you want to be the go-to person for anything that moves, then you should invest in Grease Monkey. With this perk, you can build bicycles, minibikes, motorcycles, 4x4s and even gyrocopters more cheaply than ever before. What's more, repair kits work much more efficiently than usual. Are you a mechanic? Then go ahead and grab the Grease Monkey Perk!

No matter who you play - these perks make you stronger

Whether you're looting, fighting or moving, these perks listed above will make your life much easier in 7 Days to Die. And with the changes in the 2.0 update, you get a lot more variety and flexibility without having to go down any unnecessary paths. Don't adapt to the game, adapt the perks to you. Your 7 Days to Die server must also suit you, so quickly select your configuration on GPORTAL now and plunge into the apocalypse!
