SCUM 1.0 Full Release: What to expect

Tutorial update, encounter system and NPCs

If you are a new adventurer on SCUM Island, you can look forward to a new tutorial with the 1.0 update, which should make it easier for you to get started with the game. But even if you have followed the beginnings of SCUM and experienced the first adventures, the revised SCUM tutorial is a great way to immerse yourself in the game again. Step by step you will be introduced to the basics of crafting, survival and food, learn how to deal with your first dangerous encounters and the user interface will be explained to you in a very simple way.

With the new intelligent encounter system, SCUM aims to make future confrontations more exciting. Previously, so-called puppets were randomly spawned and will soon be a thing of the past. With the new system, enemies are spawned when you draw attention to yourself through noise or movement or when you enter certain zones. The new SCUM encounter system not only makes for nerve-wracking encounters, but also significantly improves server performance.

Coincidences will also no longer be an issue with the new NPCs, as the island was actually rather lonely, but this will change with the new and armed human NPCs that will shake up the world of SCUM. They are smart, aggressive and therefore a real threat to you. Their behavior and actions adapt dynamically to the environment and, above all, to your actions. Upcoming upgrades will make the NPCs even more sophisticated and therefore even more dangerous.

Quests with a story - including your own

What has long been wished for: SCUM 1.0 finally brings the full quest system to the game. From now on, you can not only complete predefined missions - such as survival tasks, exploration tours or dangerous battles - but also create your own quests. Whether smaller adventures with a story, nerve-wracking challenges or everyday tasks. This makes Scum much more versatile and this feature brings a breath of fresh air to the island, just the way you like it.

Changes to the map including POIs

The entire SCUM map has been overhauled and will change as a result, as the focus was not only on the visuals, many points of interest have also been revised or even completely redesigned. With the 1.0 update, you have more buildings with loot options or can choose new tactics due to the changed structures.

BattlEye and the comeback of vehicles

With the 1.0 update, SCUM is switching to the anti-cheat tool BattlEye and wants to be able to take more efficient action against cheaters and ban them. You should be particularly pleased about this if you are an advocate of PvP. So you can look forward to more fairness and less annoying interference!

The old classics such as the tractor and the seaplane are returning to the game and there are even more vehicles in the pipeline. For you, this means above all:

A wipe for a fresh start
