Blood is power: the new V Rising blood system
Until now, we knew blood in V Rising as a source of various bonuses, but Stunlock Studios has given blood more power with the Invaders of Oakveil update. Find out exactly how the new blood system works, what the new blood type has in store for you and how important blood has become in V Rising in the GPORTAL blog.
The basics of the revised V Rising blood system
The blood system has been part of V Rising from the very beginning and is one of the most important game mechanics. With the 1.1 patch, however, the system has been reworked from the ground up and, in addition to blood quality and the different blood types, topics such as mixing blood and other effects have now been added. The number of blood-related options in V Rising has therefore been greatly expanded and there is even a new blood type - although this is only for those prepared to take risks.
Corrupted Blood: New V Rising blood type
One of the highlights of the revised V Rising blood system is the new blood type “Corrupted Blood”, which gives you more power but is also risky. The new V Rising Corrupted Blood blood type was created by the dark and mystical magic of Oakveil and offers you unique advantages:
- Tier 1: 25-50% less damage from corrupted attacks, 5% life leech, but also 10% increased damage from all other attacks and other sources
- Tier 2: Maximum number of stacks of vile corruption is reduced by 4-8, but you suffer a 50-100% increase in blood drain
- Tier 3: You gain +12% movement speed and +18% attack speed and at the same time there is a 25% chance that you will experience a burst that puts you under a spell for 2 seconds when you take damage
- Tier 4: +15 points to spell and weapon charge, but there is also a 30% risk of spawning a shadow that attacks you as soon as you use an ability
- Tier 5: As normal, all of the above effects are increased by 20% and at the same time the maximum cap on blood effects is increased by the same amount
The V Rising Corrupted Blood blood type is therefore not a pure boost that only gives you positive rewards, you will also have to take a lot of risks when using this blood - but it is worth it.
Blood manipulation on a new level with the Blood Homogenizer
There is also another innovation in terms of structures and a clear highlight: the V Rising Blood Homogenizer. To unlock the Blood Homogenizer, you need to go in search of the new V Rising boss Lucile the Venom Alchemist. You will find her in the Oakveil Woodlands and after you have defeated her, you will receive the recipe for the Blood Homogenizer, among other things. You will need the following resources to make the station:
- 32x Venom Sap (also found in the Oakveil Woodlands)
- 8x Glass
- 8x Dark Silver Ingot
- 1x Primal Blood Essence
The station has two slots in which you can insert two different blood types. The primary blood type gives the newly mixed blood all bonuses and you can choose a skill from the secondary blood. If the quality of the secondary blood is above 90%, you will also receive the bonuses of level 4. So choose blood types that suit you and your playing style, create your own perfect blood type and place the Blood Homogenizer in a locked room in your vampire castle to give you the chance of +25% speed.
More freedom and fine-tuning of your vampire
Perfectly complementing the new blood system, patch 1.1 also introduced a new alchemy system that includes powerful elixirs. You can create them and receive temporary but extremely powerful bonuses that give you various advantages, especially before boss fights or other dangerous situations.
With the huge updates to the blood system, you get a deep variety that allows you to customize builds to your liking and take strategic paths that, if used wisely, will give you much more power.
