Satisfactory: Importing and exporting blueprints on your server

With the blueprint system in Satisfactory, you can save recurring structures and place them again at any time. Whether they’re compact production modules, entire factory sections, or decorative structures – blueprints save time and can be easily shared with other players. For dedicated servers, files are managed directly through the server’s file access.

What are blueprints?

Blueprints are saved construction plans created in the Blueprint Designer. They consist of one or two files:

  • .sbp – contains the actual construction plan.
  • .sbpcfg – contains additional information such as a symbol or description.

The configuration file is optional, but it is recommended to ensure that the blueprint is fully applied.

Importing blueprints to a server

If you want to use an existing blueprint on your server, follow these steps:

  • First, stop your server to prevent any conflicts from occurring during the file transfer.
  • Then, connect to your server via FTP or the file manager.
  • Open the directory:

.config/Epic/FactoryGame/Saved/SaveGames

  • There is a separate folder for each game world. Select the folder whose name matches the save file (.sav) you are using. If this folder does not yet exist, you can create it with the appropriate name.
  • Now upload the Blueprint files (.sbp and, if available, .sbpcfg) to this folder.
  • Then restart the server.

After restarting, the uploaded blueprints will be available in the game via the Blueprint Designer.

Export blueprints from the server

You can also back up existing blueprints or transfer them to another server.

  • Shut down the server.
  • Connect via FTP or a file manager.
  • Navigate to the directory again:

.config/Epic/FactoryGame/Saved/SaveGames

  • Open the folder for your current game world.
  • Locate the desired blueprint files (.sbp and, if applicable, .sbpcfg) and download them to your computer.

You can then archive the files, share them with other players, or import them again onto another Satisfactory server.

Important infos

  • Be sure to always save the blueprints in the folder for the correct game world. Otherwise, they will not be recognized in the game.
  • After making any changes to the blueprint files, you should restart the server so that the changes take effect.
  • When sharing your own blueprints, it is recommended that you provide both the .sbp and .sbpcfg files to ensure that all information is preserved in its entirety.

By following these steps, you can easily transfer blueprints between different game saves or servers and reuse your favorite designs at any time.
