How to quickly reach Level 80 in Palworld 1.0
The maximum level cap in Palworld was raised from 65 to 80 with the Palworld 1.0 update. And now, of course, you’re wondering how you can reach Level 80 as quickly as possible. On the GPORTAL Blog, we’ll show you how to do it and which strategies yield the most XP.
Be sure to take advantage of the Pal Capture Bonus
There are many ways to level up quickly in Palworld. At the top of the list is the Pal Capture Bonus, which has become even easier to earn since the Palworld 1.0 update.
Previously, you had to catch 12 Pals of the same species to get the Capture Bonus. Now, you only need to catch 5 of the same species—and you should definitely take advantage of this. So don’t just keep catching the same Pals over and over—head to different areas and catch as many different Pals as possible until you’ve completed the Capture Bonus in Palworld.
Especially in the beginning, this will give you:
- Experience Points
- new Pals
- resources
- more entries in your Pal Deck
- fast progress thanks to the Capture Bonus
Explore the Palworld world and catch new Pals
The Palworld full release has made the world even bigger, and in addition to Sunreach, there are new islands and revamped areas. This is especially handy for leveling up quickly, since new regions mean new Pal species—and thus more Capture Bonuses.
So if you want to reach Level 80 as fast as possible, you can combine exploration with XP farming here. The following order is particularly effective:
First: Explore new regions
Second: Activate fast-travel points and watchtowers
Third: Capture new Pal species
Fourth: Complete capture bonuses
Fifth: Defeat bosses and clear dungeons in the area
Sixth: Move on to the next areas
This way, you can work on map progress, your Pal deck, and your level all at once—essentially a win-win-win situation.
Defeat Alpha Pals and Bosses
Is collecting Pals getting too boring for you in the long run? We totally understand. To take a brief break from this collection grind, you can regularly defeat Alpha Pals and bosses.
If you’re exploring new areas anyway and checking out a lot of them, you can easily plan battles against Palworld bosses into your route. The upside: You don’t just get XP, but often valuable materials and other rewards as well. It’s important, though, to choose enemies that match your current level—otherwise, you’ll end up on the respawn screen faster than you can run.
Be sure to check out dungeons instead of ignoring them
We know from experience how easy it is to just walk past a Palworld dungeon and think, “Yeah, I’ll do that later.” Don’t do that under any circumstances, especially if you want to level up as quickly as possible.
You’ll find everything you need in the dungeons: enemies, Pals, resources, a boss, and loot. In addition to XP, you’ll also have the chance to upgrade your gear with the loot you find there. So be sure to check whether the dungeons you find are roughly at your current level and make sure to take them on.
Revamped Quests and New Content
The main story was revamped with the Palworld 1.0 update, introducing additional missions and NPCs. If you’re starting a new game, you definitely shouldn’t ignore this and just try to reach Level 80 by farming specific spots.
New quests often take you to different regions, automatically exposing you to new Pals, bosses, resources, and more opportunities to earn experience points. So use the combination of story, exploration, and capture bonuses to reach Level 80 as quickly and efficiently as possible.
Use better Pal Spheres as soon as possible
Is catching Pals one of your main sources of XP? Then, of course, you’ll need plenty of Pal Spheres and will have to keep crafting more. It’s important that you use the right spheres.
If you constantly try to catch high-level Pals with Pal Spheres that are too weak, you’ll waste not only resources but also time. It’s best to adjust your sphere production to roughly match the level of the areas you’re exploring. After all, the faster and more reliably you catch Pals, the sooner you can unlock the next Capture Bonus. And nothing is worse than realizing in the middle of an XP run that you only have two spheres left.
Prepare your XP runs properly
If you want to farm XP in Palworld strategically, you absolutely must be well prepared. Returning to base every few minutes doesn’t fit into the schedule.
So if you’re planning a longer trip, be sure to pack enough essential resources. These include, above all:
- enough suitable Pal spheres
- ammo for your weapons
- enough food for you and your Pals
- appropriate armor
- a fast mount
- powerful combat Pals
- enough free space or a well-organized Palbox
A fast mount, in particular, is often underestimated when farming XP. Which one you use depends, of course, on your preferences. After all, a large part of the grind isn’t about fighting, but about traveling between Pals, bosses, and dungeons. The faster you cover those distances, the more XP you can earn in the same amount of time.
Increase the XP Rate on your own Palworld server
Don’t feel like doing all that grinding? Think it takes too long and just want to get to Level 80 quickly—and you have your own Palworld server? Then you can change the XP rate in the settings.
The default value is 1.0. If you’re the admin of a Dedicated Palworld Server, you can adjust this multiplier to determine how quickly players gain experience on your server.
But please be careful: If you set the multiplier too high, you’ll skip a large part of the natural and intended progression. A moderate boost can therefore often be much more fun than reaching Level 80 after just a few hours.
Best Strategy for Levels 1 to 80
For a completely new save file, you don’t need a complicated XP farm; the most effective strategy is to combine multiple XP sources.
Early Game
At the beginning, you should focus on the following:
- catch as many different Pals as possible
- purposefully complete Capture Bonuses
- unlock fast-travel points
- defeat easy Alpha Pals
- unlock technologies
- build your first functional base
Midgame
Once you have decent gear and a fast mount, you can start planning longer routes. Combine these elements:
- new regions
- Capture Bonuses
- Alpha Pals
- Dungeons
- Tower Bosses
- better gear
Starting at Level 65: The Path to the new Endgame
For existing save files from Early Access, the interesting part really begins at Level 65.
Here, you should focus more on the new high-level content. Sunreach, stronger enemies, new Pals, and, of course, the World Tree provide exactly the content you need to level up further.
On your way to Level 80, you should simultaneously prepare your team, your gear, and your Pals for the endgame. Reaching Level 80 won’t do you much good if your gear is still stuck somewhere in the midgame.
