S-Tier: The Best Pals in Palworld 1.0
Jetragon
Element: Dragon
Role: Flying Mount, Combat, Exploration
Location: In the northwestern area of Mount Obsidian
Suitability: Gathering Level 8
Special Strength: Enormous flight speed
Even in Palworld 1.0, Jetragon remains the fastest flying mount. That’s exactly what continues to make him one of the most important Pals in the entire game. He isn’t automatically the best fighter, but he saves you an incredible amount of time during exploration, boss runs, and long journeys.
Jormuntide Ignis
Element: Dragon, Fire
Role: Combat, Kindling
Location: Wildlife Sanctuary No. 2, Breeding
Suitability: Kindling Level 7
Special Strength: High Attack, strong elemental combination, and excellent Kindling
Jormuntide Ignis remains one of the strongest offensive Pals in current Palworld rankings. The combination of Fire and Dragon is very powerful, while his stats also make him a strong choice for tough boss fights.
He’s also extremely useful at your base. He handles fire-related tasks and is therefore well-suited for smelting furnaces, cooking stations, and other tasks.
Frostallion
Element: Ice
Role: Combat, Flying Mount
Location: In the northwestern snow region
Suitability: Cooling Level 7
Special Strength: Powerful ice attacks and increased ice damage
Frostallion remains one of the best ice Pals in Palworld. His partner skill makes him particularly interesting if you want to combine your own damage with ice. You can also use Frostallion as a flying mount. While he isn’t as fast as Jetragon, the combination is still very good.
Shadowbeak
Element: Dark
Role: Combat, Flying Mount
Location: Wildlife Sanctuary No. 3, Breeding
Suitability: Gathering Level 2
Special Strength: High Dark damage and powerful active abilities
Shadowbeak is also a strong fighter, especially in the endgame. His Dark attacks and his overall excellent stats make him particularly effective against suitable opponents. As a flying mount, Shadowbeak is also slower than Jetragon, but still enjoyable to use. He isn’t necessarily perfect for your base, but he’s strong for general exploration.
Solenne
Element: Dark, Neutral
Role: Crafting, Production
Location: World Tree
Suitability: Handiwork Level 8, Gathering Level 4, Transporting Level 2
Special Strength: Highest basic crafting level
Solenne is one of the new Palworld 1.0 Pals and a really good choice for your base. This Pal’s Handiwork is even at Level 8, allowing her to complete related tasks much faster than most older Pals.
Previous Pals were often good all-rounders, whether for combat or base management—they could handle just about anything. Solenne is different. She’s a specialist and should be allowed to do exactly what she does best: stand at her workstation and craft nonstop. The only problem: You can only find her in the World Tree, but once you have her, there’s no stopping you.
Knocklem Ignis
Element: Fire
Role: Mining, Transport, Kindling
Location: World Tree, Specific Egg, Breeding
Suitability: Mining Level 7, Transporting Level 7, Kindling Level 5
Special Strength: Great combination of three high-level work abilities
Have you been looking for a great base Pal? Then you’ve definitely found what you’re looking for with Knocklem Ignis. Not only is this Pal incredibly good at mining ores, but it can also transport the materials right away. Add to that a good level of kindling, which makes him a strong choice for your base. You can find him in the World Tree, obtain him from a giant egg in the volcanic region or in the World Tree, or breed him from Knocklem and Ragnahawk.
Dandilord
Element: Plant, Dark
Role: Farming, Crafting, Medicine
Location: As a Boss in the World Tree
Suitability: Planting Level 8, Handiwork Level 6, Medicine Level 6, Gathering Level 5, Transporting Level 3
Special Strength: High Planting level and an exceptionally large number of additional skills
Also a new Pal from the Palworld 1.0 update and one of the most versatile base Pals: Dandilord.
With a Level 8 Farming skill, he’s one of the best Pals for your fields. At the same time, Dandilord has high stats in Handiwork and Medicine. This means that if there’s nothing to plant at the moment, Dandilord won’t just stand around idly—he’ll immediately turn his attention to the next tasks.
However, as a boss in the World Tree, he’s only available in the endgame.
Panthalus
Element: Water
Role: Flying Mount, Combat, Base Defense
Location: Special Boss Fight in front of the World Tree
Suitability: None
Special Strength: Very high flight speed, strong combat stats; while he has no specific suitability, he provides automatic base defense
Panthalus is also a new addition to Palworld. This giant flying whale is one of the fastest flying mounts, trailing only slightly behind Jetragon. At the same time, Panthalus is a strong fighter and thus much more than “just” a form of transportation. He can also automatically patrol your base and bomb any attackers from the air.
On your way to the World Tree, you’ll need to defeat and capture Panthalus. This makes the battle quite challenging—it’s not something you can just breeze through.
A-Tier: Extremely powerful Pals with slight limitations
Necromus
Element: Dark
Role: Combat, Mount
Location: Legendary Alpha Pal in the northeastern desert
Suitability: Lumbering Level 6, Mining Level 6
Special Strength: High speed and powerful Dark attacks
Necromus is another powerful Pal that combines the roles of mount and fighter. Newer and other Pals may be better in certain areas, but Necromus is a close second.
Paladius
Element: Neutral
Role: Combat, Mount
Location: With Necromus in the northeastern desert
Suitability: Lumbering Level 6, Mining Level 6
Special Strength: High defensive stats and powerful Neutral attacks
You could view Paladius as a more defensive counterpart to Necromus. He can take a lot of damage, is well-suited for long battles, and is also a fast mount.
Bellanoir Libero
Element: Dark
Role: Combat
Location: Raid Boss Battle, afterwards as an egg
Suitability: Medicine Level 7, Handiwork Level 6, Transporting Level 4
Special Strength: Enormous Dark damage
Bellanoir Libero remains one of the strongest offensive Pals in 2026. It is particularly well-suited for boss battles and other challenging endgame scenarios. This Pal is one of the Palworld raid bosses and must therefore first be summoned; it can then be hatched from an egg.
Orserk
Element: Dragon, Electric
Role: Combat, Power Generation
Location: World Tree
Suitability: Electricity Level 8, Transporting Level 4, Handiwork Level 3
Special Strength: Highest basic power generation level
Orserk was reworked in Palworld 1.0 and definitely belongs in your base. With Level 8 Electricity, he’s one of the best Power Pals around. Especially if you have multiple production facilities running, Orserk is one of the best options for power generation. He’s also strong in combat thanks to his combination of elements, but he’s more useful for production.
Anubis
Element: Earth
Role: Crafting, Mining, Transport, Combat
Location: Alpha-Pal in the Twilight Dunes, Breeding
Suitability: Handiwork Level 6, Mining Level 6, Transporting Level 4
Special Strength: Versatile and early breeding options
Currently, Anubis has slipped somewhat from the top ranks of the best crafters. New Palworld Pals achieve significantly better stats—yet Anubis remains a strong all-rounder. You can obtain him through breeding fairly early on; he moves quickly around your base and handles three important tasks.
Silvance
Element: Plant
Role: Medicine, Crafting, Farming
Location: Boss in the World Tree
Suitability: Medicine 8, Handiwork Level 6, Planting Level 6, Gathering Level 4, Transporting Level 2
Special Strength: Highest basic level in Medicine Crafting
Silvance isn’t a specialist in any particular field, even though his Level 8 Medicine Crafting naturally points him in a clear direction. He also has skills in Handiwork, Planting, Gathering, and Transport. This makes him extremely versatile, but there’s also a downside: you don’t get him until late in the World Tree.
Aegidron
Element: Dragon, Earth
Role: Mining, Combat
Location: Boss in the World Tree
Suitability: Mining Level 8
Special Strength: High base level in Mining
Are you fully focused on mining materials? Then Aegidron, with Mining at Level 8, is definitely a good choice. His weakness, however, is that he doesn’t transport items on his own. If you have a base with enough transport Pals, that’s not a problem. If not, Knocklem Ignis might be the better choice overall.
Celesdir Noct
Element: Dark
Role: Lumbering
Location: Boss in the World Tree
Suitability: Lumbering Level 8, Gathering Level 4
Special Strength: High basic level in Lumbering
If you’re looking for a low-maintenance Pal-Player relationship and need someone for lumbering, Celesdir Noct is exactly what you’re looking for. With Level 8 in Lumbering, you can confidently assign him to a lumber camp and never worry about running out of wood again.
Ophydia
Element: Plant, Water
Role: Farming, Mount
Location: Boss in Sunreach
Suitability: Planting Level 7, Watering Level 5
Special Strength: Good combination of farm work, mobility, and combat
Ophydia is one of the best new mounts and is also quite useful for your farming. Thanks to the Plant and Water elements, Ophydia can handle several tasks, reducing the number of different Pals you need to deploy at your base.
Renjishi
Element: Fire
Role: Kindling, Combat
Location: Boss in the World Tree
Suitability: Kindling Level 8, Handiwork Level 6, Gathering Level 5, Transporting Level 5
Special Strength: High Kindling Level and Versatility
Renjishi has Level 8 Kindling, making it perfect for smelting and cooking tasks. So why does it still only land in Tier A on our Palworld Tier List? Its greatest strengths lie in base operations, and it becomes available very late in the game.
B-Tier: Strong, but overshadowed by better Pals
Blazamut Ryu
Element: Dragon, Fire
Role: Combat, Kindling
Location: Raid Boss Battle, afterwards as an egg
Suitability: Mining Level 7, Kindling Level 6
Special Strength: High Fire and Dragon damage
Blazamut Ryu is and remains a strong, offensive combat Pal. It’s particularly well-suited for battles where its powerful combination of elements offers advantages. However, it slips down the Tier List because it must also be summoned as a raid boss and is overshadowed by other strong Pals.
Lyleen
Element: Plant
Role: Farming, Medicine, Healing
Location: Wildlife Sanctuary No. 3, Breeding
Suitability: Planting Level 7, Gathering Level 6, Handiwork Level 5, Medicine Level 5
Special Strength: Versatile basic skills and healing ability
Lyleen was long considered one of the best Pals for farming. She remains very good, but has been surpassed by Dandilord when it comes to sowing. Her versatility and Partner Skill still make her a strong choice.
Astegon
Element: Dragon, Dark
Role: Mining, Combat, Flying Mount
Location: Alpha Pal on Mount Obsidian, Wildlife Sanctuary No. 3
Suitability: Mining Level 7, Handiwork Level 3
Special Strength: Good mining and strong defensive stats
In the midgame and early late game, Astegon remains a very good choice. He is a reliable miner and fighter.
Frostallion Noct
Element: Dark
Role: Combat, Flying Mount, Gathering
Location: Breeding
Suitability: Gathering Level 7
Special Strength: Boosts Dark-type attacks
Frostallion Noct combines Dark-type attacks with the mobility of a flying mount. At your base, it supports you with Level 7 Gathering. You can obtain Frostallion Noct by breeding Frostallion and Helzephyr. Once you have two Frostallion Noct—one female and one male—you can breed them to get another Frostallion Noct.
Faleris
Element: Fire
Role: Flying Mount, Combat
Location: Wildlife Sanctuary No. 3, Breeding
Suitability: Kindling Level 6, Transporting Level 3
Special Strength: A good flying mount for the mid-game and late-game, until you obtain Panthalus or Jetragon
Faleris serves as the perfect stopgap until you can get your hands on Panthalus or Jetragon. Its fire attacks also make it useful in combat, and its Fire Generation and Transport aptitudes are a welcome boost for your base.
Eidrolon
Element: Dragon, Dark
Role: Flying Mount, Combat, Transport
Location: Boss in Sunreach
Suitability: Transporting Level 6
Special Strength: Mobility and high Transport level
Eidrolon was introduced in Palworld 1.0 and combines high flight speed with combat strength and transport capabilities. Its role at the base is clear, but it’s all the more versatile on the go.
C-Tier: Useful Pals That Aren’t at the Top
Verdash
Element: Plant
Role: Farming, All-Rounder
Location: Wildlife Sanctuary No. 2, Alpha Dungeon
Suitability: Gathering Level 5, Handiwork Level 5, Planting Level 4, Lumbering Level 3, Transporting Level 3
Special Strength: Many different abilities
Thanks to its wide range of work abilities, Verdash is a practical all-rounder for the midgame, but it often jumps back and forth between different tasks. A specialized production base is therefore not really its home.
Wumpo
Element: Ice
Role: Transport, Lumbering, Cooling
Location: Snow Region in the North
Suitability: Transporting Level 6, Lumbering Level 5, Cooling Level 5, Handiwork Level 3
Special Strength: High transport capacity and support abilities
Wumpo is particularly interesting due to his Level 6 Transport and Level 5 Lumbering and Cooling. His partner skill can also increase the Transport level of other Pals in your base.
Beakon
Element: Electric
Role: Flying Mount, Combat, Power Generation
Location: Alpha-Pal in the northern sand dunes
Suitability: Transporting Level 5, Electricity Level 4, Gathering Level 2
Special Strength: Good mobility and midgame capabilities
Beakon combines a good flying mount with transport and power generation. This is useful for the midgame, but in the endgame, it’s significantly outclassed by stronger Pals in terms of mobility and power generation.
Digtoise
Element: Earth
Role: Mining
Location: Twilight Dunes
Suitability: Mining Level 4
Key Strength: Early availability and reliable ore mining
Digtoise is available early on and remains a good choice for your first major ore production. Later on, however, Level 4 mining is surpassed by Pals like Astegon, Knocklem Ignis, and Aegidron.
Grizzbolt
Element: Electric
Role: Combat, Power Generation, Crafting, Transport
Location: Wildlife Sanctuary No. 1
Suitability: Electricity Level 5, Transporting Level 5, Handiwork Level 4, Lumbering Level 3
Special Strength: Versatility and powerful partner skill “Minigun”
Grizzbolt is very versatile thanks to his four work specialties and can also be fun in combat with his Minigun. When it comes to power generation, however, he can no longer keep up with the new endgame Pals. But let’s be honest—the Minigun is a huge plus.
Suzaku
Element: Fire
Role: Flying Mount, Kindling
Location: Northeastern Desert
Suitability: Kindling Level 5
Special Strength: Pretty decent flight performance and support for fireworks
Suzaku is a pretty good Fire Pal and flying mount for the midgame. Later on, both his flight speed and fire generation are weaker than those of the better alternatives.
Note:
Our Palworld Tier List evaluates the overall performance of the Pals. So it’s not just about combat, base-building, or mobility. Depending on your build and how you use them, a Pal’s ranking in the Tier List can shift significantly up or down.
Which Pals are the best?
If you’re looking for the best flying mount in Palworld, Jetragon should still be your top choice. However, Panthalus is a strong alternative among the new Palworld 1.0 Pals.
For strong support during battles, you should rely on Jormuntide Ignis, Frostallion, Shadowbeak, Bellanoir Libero, Necromus, and Paladius. To keep your base running smoothly, the following Pals are the best choices:
- Solenne for crafting
- Dandilord for farming
- Silvance for medicine
- Aegidron for pure mining
- Knocklem Ignis for mining and transport
- Celesdir Noct for lumbering
- Orserk for power generation
- Renjishi for kindling
FAQ
Which Pal is the best in Palworld 1.0?
There’s no clear-cut answer. Jetragon is the fastest flying mount, Solenne is the best at crafting, and Dandilord is one of the strongest Pals for farming. For combat, the best choice depends on the opponent and their element.
Which Pals are best for the base?
Knocklem Ignis offers one of the best all-around packages because it combines mining, transportation, and kindling at a high level. Solenne, Dandilord, Silvance, Aegidron, Orserk, and Celesdir Noct are very well-suited for specific tasks.
Which new 1.0 Pal is the most worthwhile?
For your base, Solenne, Dandilord, Knocklem Ignis, Silvance, Aegidron, and Orserk are the most worthwhile. For travel and combat, Panthalus and Ophydia are very interesting options.
Are C-Tier Pals bad?
No. C-Tier Pals remain useful, especially in the early and mid-game. In the late midgame and endgame, they’re simply outperformed by Pals with higher levels or better combinations of aptitudes and stronger stats.
Your Palworld team doesn’t assemble itself
Palworld 1.0 has shaken up many of the old Pal rankings. However, Jetragon, Frostallion, and Shadowbeak definitely remain among the strong classics. Meanwhile, new specialists like Solenne, Dandilord, and Knocklem Ignis further enhance your base. Even if you’re satisfied with your current Pals, it’s worth considering a shake-up.
