Palworld crossplay lets players on Steam, Xbox and PlayStation 5 play together on the same dedicated server. With the 1.0 release launching on all platforms at once, crossplay is more relevant than ever. This guide shows how to configure the CrossplayPlatforms setting on your GPORTAL server.
What is crossplay?
Crossplay allows players from different platforms to join the same server. The CrossplayPlatforms setting defines which platforms are allowed to connect. The default value includes all supported platforms: (Steam,Xbox,PS5,Mac).
How do I enable or restrict crossplay?
- Open
PalWorldSettings.ini(web interface or FTP). - Find
CrossplayPlatforms, or look for it in the GPORTAL Basic Settings. - Choose all platforms for full crossplay, or use only specific ones to restrict access – e.g.
(Steam)for a PC-only server. - Save and restart the server.
What should crossplay admins know?
With crossplay enabled, console players cannot use a Steam ID for admin actions. When kicking or banning cross-platform players, use the in-game player list or the player’s UID rather than a Steam ID. Note that AllowConnectPlatform is deprecated – always use CrossplayPlatforms.
How do admin commands work with crossplay?
With players from multiple platforms, a Steam ID no longer identifies everyone. When you kick or ban a console player, use the in-game player list or the player’s UID rather than a Steam ID. This is the most common source of confusion for admins after enabling crossplay, so document your players’ UIDs where possible. See our admin commands guide.

FAQ
Does Palworld support crossplay on dedicated servers?
Yes. With the CrossplayPlatforms setting, Steam, Xbox, PS5 and Mac players can join the same GPORTAL dedicated server.
How do I make a PC-only Palworld server?
Set CrossplayPlatforms=(Steam) in PalWorldSettings.ini, save and restart. Only Steam players can then connect.
Is Palworld crossplay enabled by default?
Yes. The default CrossplayPlatforms value includes Steam, Xbox, PS5 and Mac, so a fresh server allows full crossplay unless you restrict it.
Why can’t my Xbox friends join my Palworld server?
Check that Xbox is included in CrossplayPlatforms, that the server runs the same 1.0 build, and that any password is entered correctly.
Should I use AllowConnectPlatform or CrossplayPlatforms?
Always use CrossplayPlatforms. AllowConnectPlatform is deprecated and ignored in current versions.
