ARK: Dynamic Maps - random worlds and new creatures

16.01.2017

Patch 248: For us probably the most exciting ARK update in the recent past, automatically generated worlds. Exactly, no world is like the other and you set up your world how you think it should be. You decide whether it is filled with high mountains, deep valleys, rivers, oceans, or densely forested areas.

Patch 248: For us probably the most exciting ARK update in the recent past, automatically generated worlds. Exactly, no world is like the other and you set up your world how you think it should be. You decide whether it is filled with high mountains, deep valleys, rivers, oceans, or densely forested areas.

New animals / changelog:

  • New feature: Now there are procedurally generated cards, but they are still EXPERIMENTAL
  • New feature: Editing (adding and deleting) the spawn points of NPCs on the map, useful for generated maps
  • New creature: Kaprosuchus
  • New creature: Diplocaulus
  • New creature: Chalicotherium
  • Mechanic: Discoverer notes
  • Now you can finally attack more creatures with certain weapons
  • Castrate dinos, but this is no longer reversible
  • Spectators can now hear the voice chat and when the distance is closer, you can recognize the lip movements

Fixes and optimizations:

  • Optimized processing of the stacks in well-developed areas (almost 1/5 performance gain)
  • Approx. 70% more HP and + 50% resistance to explosion damage on tree platforms
  • Font size is now individually scalable according to the number of options
  • The problem with the collisions (players) on big dinos has been fixed
  • The cave and underwater supply crates are no longer self-destructible, they are no longer in inventory, they can not create portals (boss)
