Fatigue, hunger and thirst in Sons of the Forest
As in any survival game, there are of course a few basic needs to take care of in Sons of the Forest: Fatigue, hunger and thirst.
Fatigue
Fatigue sets in when your character has not slept for a long time. You can get rid of fatigue for a while by eating energy bars or drinking energy drinks (purple mark on the scale), but in the long run, sleeping is recommended. Guarana berries can also help against fatigue as a snack in between meals. A high level of fatigue lowers endurance.
Hunger
Hunger can be satisfied by consuming a variety of foods: Roasted meat from animals, fish, energy bars, field rations, instant noodles, and much more. Different foods give a different amount of satiation. Some even increase thirst in return form satiety such as instant noodles. Great hunger generally lowers the amount of stamina.
Thirst
Similar to hunger, thirst can also be quenched with different drinks: Water (from a stream or water bottle), energy drinks or berries. Great thirst also leads to decreased stamina.
Currently, there are no other side effects for hunger and thirst. Also, you don’t suffer any damage even if you don’t eat or drink for days. However, this will probably change in future updates.
