How do I reset the map on my Project Zomboid server?
Do you want to start from scratch? Do you want to try out a new mod or a new update? Then it’s handy if you can reset the existing world and start again.
This is done quite quickly via an FTP connection. Proceed as follows:
- First stop your server via our web interface
- Now establish an FTP connection to your server (more information about the FTP connection can be found HERE)
- Now create a new folder
-> The name of the folder doesn’t matter, but you should choose one that catches your eye (e.g.: OLD_WORLD_) - Now go to the path:
-> /Saves/Multiplayer - Move the “worlds” folder from there to the new folder you just created (e.g.: OLD_WORLD)
- Furthermore you have to delete your locally saved progress (on your PC):
- You can usually find the folder under the following path:
C:\User(username)\Zomboid\Saves\Multiplayer - Here you have to delete the folder that belongs to the map you want to reset
- You can usually find the folder under the following path:
- Now restart your server in our webinterface and your world should be reset
Have fun!
