This section explores how the versatile Hytale customization systems allow you to fine-tune your appearance without compromising on gameplay or gear progression.

Customize your Hytale Avatar

The basis for Hytale player customization is the menu where the game character can be customized. There, basic things such as the following can be set:

  • skin tone
  • eye color
  • hairstyle
  • other facial
  • styling options
  • including color variations for hair and clothing

New options are regularly added in Hytale’s early access. Examples include new facial options (e.g. new  ‘mouth’ variants) and revamped hairstyles.

Hytale Custom Clothing & Appearance vs. Gear

Visually, Hytale doesn’t really make a hard distinction between ‘outfit’ and ‘gear’. Hytale character customization is designed so that the look interacts with the gear system: clothing can be worn under or over other items, and new gear is placed over the style specified by the player. Hytale scripted brushes are the perfect example of the versatility and part of the building tools in creative mode. They can be used to create entire shapes and structures, such as mountains, paths or procedurally generated ruins. Scripted brushes are asset-defined and can be extended or customized within the official creator system.

With scripted brushes, you can:

  • shape terrain
  • edit a larger area
  • create natural structures faster

Note:In Hytale creative mode, there is a quick settings panel that allows you to quickly change settings for flight feel / speed and tools.

Building Visuals in Hytale Customization

When building in Hytale, the following features are important for the visuals:

  • connected block textures

Server-related Hytale Customization

This means that a Hytale server can define its own content and game rules. These are loaded automatically as soon as a player joins the server. There is no need to manually install external mods.

The Hytale client remains unchanged. No separate client mods are planned. This is to keep the game stable and secure.

Important:This type of Hytale customization primarily affects server operators and creators. A normal single player does not need to actively concern themselves with it.

Very versatile, because it works on several levels. The Hytale avatar is immediately visible and its style can be quickly customized. Looks developed through Hytale gear and cosmetics constantly evolve during gameplay. Your Hytale world and visuals can be massively shaped with creative tools. Finally, on servers, operators can activate their own content and set rules that noticeably change the gaming experience. Nevertheless, the possibilities of Hytale customization do not seem overwhelming, because much of it grows gradually through early access and not everything has to be used at once.
