Minecraft Vex

It glides through the air, silent yet terrifying: the Minecraft vex is one of the most menacing little mobs in Minecraft – small in body but big in annoyance factor. Anyone who encounters a Minecraft vex knows: it’s going to be uncomfortable. Let’s dive into the world of the little pest!

Where can You Find the Minecraft Vex?

The Minecraft vex spawns in the regular course of the game exclusively by summoning an evoker, an enemy mage. You can find evokers either in a woodland mansion or during a raid on a village, which is triggered when you enter a village with the ‘bad omen’ effect. A unique, ghostly and distorted sound, often announces that an evoker is actively being summoned – shortly afterwards, the Minecraft vex and his friends appear.

Minecraft Vex: Appearance & Animation

On the outside, the Minecraft vex looks like a mixture of mini ghost and demon: about the size of a baby zombie, with bluish translucent skin, glowing red eyes and a small iron sword in its hand. Its appearance is reminiscent of a twisted version of a fairy figure – only with evil intentions. Not to be compared to the allay’s friendly demeanor.

It moves freely through the world, gliding through blocks, walls, lava and fire without taking any damage. Its flight movements are jerky and unpredictable – ideal for surprising you.

Behavior & Attack Patterns of the Minecraft Vex

Vexes behave extremely aggressively. Once summoned, they aim directly at players or villagers and attack them with short, targeted swoops. They use their enchanted iron swords, which can cause considerable damage despite their size.

Tip:

If you want to face the Minecraft vex, pay attention to its behavior:

  • appears suddenly and attacks in groups
  • flies through any obstacles, making it unpredictable
  • deals constant damage as long as it is alive

A Minecraft vex has 14 health points (7 hearts) and a limited lifespan: it disappears automatically after 30-119 seconds if you don’t kill it first. Until then, it suffers damage on its own. Nevertheless, this time is often enough to cause a lot of damage – especially if several appear at once. They do not regenerate health during this time – so every hit counts.

These Are the Minecraft Vex Drops

A Minecraft vex usually only drops experience points (3 XP). An iron sword could theoretically be dropped, but only with ‘looting III’ and a chance of 8.5% – without this enchantment the chance is 0%. They do not drop any valuable items.

The vex is therefore not a loot mob, but serves entirely as a dangerous opponent in the game.

Defeating the Minecraft Vex Mob

It is agile, penetrates all blocks and appears suddenly – but it is not invincible. With the right preparation, you can defeat and kill the Minecraft vex:

  • Fast weapons such as swords or tridents are particularly suitable as they allow high strike frequencies and precise hits.
  • Ranged weapons such as bows are only effective to a limited extent, as vexes are very mobile.
  • Protective enchantments on your armor (e.g. ‘protection’, ‘blast protection’) reduce incoming damage, especially when several Minecraft vexes attack at the same time.
  • ‘Totem of Undying’: This item saves you from death in an emergency (you should keep it in your off-hand, especially during raids).
  • Traps are of little help, as vexes float through lava, fire and solid blocks. Classic mob traps are therefore ineffective.
  • Avoid close combat in confined spaces as they are harder to hit and you have no evasive options.

The most important thing is to stay calm, observe their movement patterns and wait for the right moment to strike. If you stay focused, you can also kill several Minecraft vexes in a short time.

Conclusion: Minecraft Vex

The Minecraft vex is a small but nasty monster with a ghostly look and a sword. It never comes alone, is unstoppable when it moves and is annoying when you need it the least. But that’s exactly what makes it so iconic: a mobile mini-boss that makes every raid a real challenge. Face the swarm of vexes on your Minecraft server from G-Portal! Because those who master vexes are prepared for the big Minecraft battles.
